About Rawabi City

Rawabi, is a new community for Palestinian families that will provide opportunities for affordable home ownership, employment, education, leisure and an attractive environment in which to live, work and grow.

Rawabi, the first Palestinian planned city, is a bold initiative in both its facets: a new population center for Palestine and a courageous economic initiative that will contribute to permanent new job generation and sustainable long-term growth for the Palestinian economy. The new city integrates international best practices for urban master planning, sustainable environmental policy, regionally-suited architecture and state of-the-art infrastructure for residents, enterprises and visitors.

Located 9 km north of Ramallah and 3.5 km north of Birzeit, Rawabi lies 25 km north of Jerusalem and 25 km south of Nablus. Rawabi's municipal boundaries encompass 6,300,000 square meters of land, which will initially be home to 25,000 residents. Additional residential and commercial units slated for subsequent construction phases will ultimately serve a city with a population of more than 40,000.

Rawabi's more than 5,000 housing units with multiple floor plans spread across 23 neighborhoods, each with its own individual aesthetic. All neighborhoods have wonderful modern amenities including ample underground parking areas, playgrounds, wide sidewalks and outdoor walking trails, pocket parks and convenience retail stores.

The City Center offers a retail business district with hotels, cinemas and a convention center, all supported by the latest smart technologies and a high-speed fiber-optic network. Rawabi also features education and medical facilities, houses of worship, public green spaces and recreation facilities – creating new Palestinian economic and cultural destination.

As the largest private sector undertaking in Palestinian history, Rawabi will expand the local economy's linkages to the global knowledge economy. It will introduce new technologies to the Palestinian construction sector and encourage international firms, particularly in the high-tech, health care and renewable energy sectors to take up a key role in bolstering current economic activities. Through attracting investors and technology suppliers; Rawabi plans to generate more than 5,000 permanent jobs, creating quality of life and making a long-term, sustainable contribution to national prosperity.

Bayti Real Estate Investment Company, the developer of Rawabi, is jointly owned by Qatari Diar and Massar International. It was established to jumpstart the development of the Palestinian real estate sector with a mission to create affordable, accessible, family- friendly communities and create several thousand direct and indirect employment opportunities for Palestinians, providing multi-level stimulus to the national economy. The investment in Rawabi will ultimately exceed more than $1 billion USD.
